This red squirrel posed nicely for me while I was sat in a hide in the Black Forest. After dashing down a forest track towards the hide, he scrambled up a nearby tree. Once parallel to the hide, which was high up, he stopped to inspect who was inside and in this moment I managed three shots of which this was one. This type of squirrel is typical of ones found here with its white chest and long ear tufts. Sometimes they are darker, even almost black but most are a reddy chestnut brown.
