Car interior

An interior sketch for a Japanese car maker from 2003 while working freelance. The aim was to create a zen-like, hamonious and tidy interior, free from distracting styling cliches. The instrument binnacle was transparent glass/plastic with LED projected data/info. This gave the interior a light and airy feel. The rest of the controls would be within fingertip reach on pods close to the steering wheel. The smooth, soft molded surfaces gave the interior a safe and comfortable feeling. I felt it was important to steer away from a growing trend for sharp corners, hard metallic chrome components, flashy bling and excessive functions.
