A portrait painting in oil of Charlie, once a resident in the local village. The green vegetation in the background prompted a van Gogh style painting with thickly applied oil paint emphasising the flora and giving the surface structure. This was my first portrait painting and although his likeness left much to be desire, I was happy with the background.
